Our Services – Travel Medicine Tyrol
Dr Marco Schönberger and Dr Laura Riepl offer you a comprehensive range of travel medicine services – from personalised travel consultations and vaccinations to post-travel follow-up care. Our practice is an officially recognised yellow fever vaccination centre.
🗺️ Travel Medicine Consultation
Every trip is different – that is why we create a personalised health plan tailored to your destination, duration of travel and individual health status.
What does the consultation cover?
We inform you about health risks at your destination, recommend targeted vaccinations and malaria prophylaxis where appropriate, provide guidance on food and water safety and discuss behavioural precautions in tropical regions. For special activities such as mountain trekking or dive trips, we also advise on altitude medicine and emergency preparedness.
💉 Vaccinations & Boosters
We review your vaccination status and administer all recommended travel and routine vaccinations. We keep all common vaccines permanently in stock – so vaccinations can usually be given straight away at your consultation appointment.
Which vaccinations do we offer?
Our range includes yellow fever (recognised yellow fever vaccination centre), hepatitis A and B, typhoid, rabies, meningococcal disease, Japanese encephalitis and TBE, among others. We also administer all routine vaccinations recommended by the Austrian immunisation schedule, which can often be boosted at the same time.
💊 Travel Pharmacy & Prophylaxis
Good preparation makes for safer travel. We advise you on assembling your travel pharmacy and issue prescriptions for emergency medication and malaria prophylaxis.
What belongs in a travel pharmacy?
Depending on your destination and travel style, we may recommend fever and pain relief, anti-diarrhoeal and anti-nausea medication, wound care supplies, sun protection, insect repellent and – where needed – standby antibiotics or water purification products. We compile an individually tailored list for you.
🔬 Diagnostics & Preventive Care
In addition to travel medicine consultations, we offer general health check-ups and preventive care – ideal as a pre-travel check-up or for assessment before extended stays abroad.
What does this include?
This includes health screenings, laboratory diagnostics (blood counts, antibody titre checks, etc.) and the management of chronic conditions – with particular attention to the specific demands of travel.
🩺 Acute Treatment & Minor Surgery
Should you develop symptoms after your trip or have fallen ill whilst travelling, we support you with diagnosis and treatment.
What do we offer?
Our services include the investigation of travel-related illnesses (e.g. tropical fever, diarrhoeal diseases), minor surgical procedures, wound care and infusion and injection therapies.
💬 Psychosocial Counselling
Travel can be associated with stress or uncertainty – particularly during long-term stays, assignments abroad or following distressing travel experiences. We support you with psychosocial concerns and advise you on staying mentally and physically well.
💰 Costs & Billing
Travel vaccinations and travel medicine consultations are generally private services and are not covered by statutory health insurance. If you have the recommended vaccinations carried out at our practice, the consultation is free of charge. For consultations without vaccination, we charge a consultation fee of €40 per person. We are happy to provide an invoice for your supplementary insurance upon request.
